Regional Targeted Occupations List |

The WFI Targeted Occupations Task Force approved the 2003-04 regional targeted occupations lists on March 2, 2004. A package is currently being assembled to begin the process for establishing the 2004-05 targeted occupations lists. As in years past, regional boards will have an opportunity to offer additions to their lists based on local conditions that state data may miss. The intent is that, by starting the 2004-05 process now, the lists will be finalized prior to the start of the 2004-05 Program Year on July 1, 2004. NOTE: The process for targeting occupations for each year
hereafter will begin the August before the start of the new
program year. That means that this August (2004) WFI will commence
the process for the following year, the 2005-06 PY which starts
on July 1, 2005. This change will add needed consistency to
the scheduling of the process and it will allow time for regional
workforce boards and their training providers to plan the gathering
of local data for additions to the lists. Starting with the
2005-06 targeted lists, plans are to have the targeted occupations
lists published in either December or January, a full six months
before the start of the program year.
