Some of you may already have received this announcement
I clipped from the Governor’s weekly email update. This
will be administered by the Hurricane fund under the Volunteer
Florida Foundation, and if handled like prior Home Depot donations,
it will be distributed to fund social services to be provided
by non-profit orgs/FBCOs based on competitive proposals. So
be thinking about how you might help and benefit from this
opportunity. And be watching for any invitation to submit a
proposal, which we will include in a future alert.
FLORIDA HURRICANE RELIEF FUND RECEIVED $1 MILLION DONATION
FROM THE HOME DEPOTR FOR HURRICANE WILMA
On Tuesday, I announced that The Home Depot has made a $1
million donation to the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund to assist
nonprofit organizations affected by Hurricane Wilma. These
organizations are instrumental in providing social services
to Florida residents and often do not qualify for government
assistance to repair and rebuild their own structures. With
the help of generous donations from companies like The Home
Depot, the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund can adequately assist
those in need in the wake of two unprecedented hurricane seasons.
I thank them for their commitment to providing Florida's non-profit
organizations with the resources to recover so they can continue
to help Florida's families and communities. For more information
