Daytona Workforce Board Partners with FBO, Hope Fellowship Church (March 7, 2005)

Hope Fellowship Church and the Workforce Development Board of Flagler and Volusia Counties, Inc. (WDB) celebrated the grand opening of a new One-Stop Career System Career Link site on February 16th. The new site has been created to help area residents locate jobs, create résumés, and access the One-Stop Job Match System.

The Career Link services are the result of partnerships between WDB’s One-Stop Career System of services, the local community and faith-based organizations willing to provide the staff and sites necessary to assist the community to access basic One-Stop Career System services online.

“This partnership is an example of how the faith community and the social services community can effectively work together. We are delighted to be able to offer this service to the Derbyshire area community,” stated Bishop Derek T. Triplett, Pastor of Hope Fellowship Church. The new One-Stop System Career Link site is located at 869 Derbyshire Road in Daytona Beach.

The service will be available Tuesday through Thursday from 10am to noon, Thursday evenings from 5:30pm – 7:30 pm and Monday and Friday by appointment only. Individuals seeking more information about the new Career Link service housed at the Hope Fellowship Church may call (386) 226-1122 ext. 11.

{Note this partnership in Volusia County replicates a model devloped by the Brevard Workforce Board in partnership with the Brevard United Way acting as intermediary with funding from the US Department of Labor. The Volusia version receives no funding from USDOL, but has received technical assistance as part of USDOL's "ACCESS" initiative}
