Most of you are undoubtedly aware of the upcoming
Miami White House Conference on Faith-Based and Community
Initiatives on Tuesday, October 19, 2004. This announcement
describes a post-conference workshop on the following day
10/20 that will focus more specifically on workforce issues
and partnership opportunities and best practices.
We are proud to announce that the US Department of Labor’s
FBCI will offer a special post-conference in conjunction
with the White House Conference on Faith-Based and Community
Initiatives in Miami, Florida.
The 10/19 White House Conference on Faith-Based and Community
will provide tremendous opportunities to learn about the
President's Initiatives, the federal grants process and opportunities,
grant writing, and also will provide opportunities to learn
from peer organizations who have successfully partnered with
local, state and federal government. One of the topics that
will be covered in the White House conference is "Successful
Partnerships and Federal Resources for Workforce Development
and Ex-Offender Issues." To register for the White House

The focus of this 10/20 post-conference is not funding opportunities,
but instead is to share some of the best practices for organizations
that are helping people to successfully find and keep jobs.
The post-conference is titled, "Unlocking the Door:
The Golden Keys for Successful Workforce Development" and
requires a separate registration from the White House Conference.
Logistics: 8:30a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Registration begins at 7:30. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided.
