In its Appropriations Bill, the 2004 Legislature
earmarked $400,000 in federal funds allocated to Workforce
Florida, Inc. to seek competitive proposals for intervention
services for Florida students who have failed the Florida
Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) and therefore run the
risk of either dropping out of school or facing significant
obstacles to full-time employment. The Request
for Proposals is issued in response to that charge from
the Legislature. We encourage your participation, and you
will note that non-profits, faith-based and community-based
organizations are eligible to compete. As always with Florida
workforce grants/projects, all proposals must be developed
and submitted in collaboration with your respective Regional
Workforce Board(s).
The deadline for submitting proposals is - 5:00 PM, Eastern,
October 15, 2004.
If you have any questions regarding this RFP, please submit
them via email to Mike
Johnson.
