Entrepreneurial Training and Business Technical Assistance for Targeted Groups (September 13, 2004)

Workforce Florida Inc. (WFI) has just issued a Request For Proposal (RFP) for FBCOs, service organizations, business organizations and other organizations partnered with Regional Workforce Boards (RWBs) to propose entrepreneurial training pilot projects, specifically intended for Individuals with Disabilities, minorities and/or veterans. The deadline for proposals is October 13, 2004, and eligible proposals must include RWB “signoff” as a required partner in the proposal. A total of $700,000 is allocated for the RFP, with no more than $250K awarded to any individual contract. Other details on the competition are included in the attached RFP, and questions can be directed to Mike Johnson.

This notice has been sent to all RWBs, and key business partners. Please also pass this opportunity along to any colleagues, partners, associates or interested organizations. This may fit in nicely with some self-employment opportunities that may be emerging to respond to hurricane disaster cleanup, mitigation, repair and rebuilding.
