After the very successful October Governor’s Conference
for Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations in Ft.
Lauderdale, a number of attendees have asked for copies of
hand outs and presentation material used/distributed at the
Conference, particularly for concurrent break-out sessions
they could not attend or displays that ran out of materials.
The Conference coordinators have asked all presenters to
submit their materials in electronic form so they could be
disseminated and posted on the web for general access.
This initial set of handouts includes
mainly workforce-related items, but we invite submissions
from the other presenters from DCF, Health, etc. as well
as the afternoon panel sessions on system building. Now posted
on the website are:
-Workforce and CBO-FBO Opportunities (Mike Switzer morning
presentation)
-Broward FBO-CBO Intermediaries Pilot (Mason Jackson morning
presentation) ----plus the Replication Manual for the Broward
Intermediaries Pilot [rand new, not ready/distributed at
conference]
-Intermediaries--the Brevard Experience (Rita Elkins morning
presentation)
-Childcare--Partnership for School Readiness (Susan Simpler
morning presentation)
-Regional Workforce Board map and contacts (background resource
for collaboration)
-Outline Notes--Building Coalitions (Rick Sawyer’s
afternoon panel)
These resources, or a link to them will also be posted on
the website maintained by the Family and Children Faith Coalition
of South Florida, and they are also in the process of developing
a new website that can also be used for sharing such information
and a more informal web-based exchange for FBOs and CBOs,
both in South Florida and statewide. Check out their current
site at http://www.fcfcfl.org This
alert is being sent to our list of state-level "umbrella" or
intermediary organizations, and a growing list of regional/local
intermediary organizations with the hope that you will pass
along the good news to members, colleagues, partner organizations
and others who have and interest.
