FINE ARTS GRANTS FOR ELEMENTARY
SCHOOLS
Sponsored by the NEA Foundation
for the Improvement of Education, the NEA Fine Arts grants
are awarded to enable elementary arts teachers to create
and implement fine arts programs that promote learning among
students at risk of school failure. Grants must serve U.S.
public elementary students at risk of school failure, and
programs must address the arts (e.g., painting, sculpture,
photography, music, theater, dance, design, media, or folk
arts).

TECHNOLOGY FOR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES
The Beaumont Foundation of America
is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals by providing
technology to historically underserved schools and communities.
The Foundation will use $350 million to provide state-of-the-art
Toshiba branded hardware to individuals and institutions
throughout the U.S. In 2003, the Foundation will award grants
in 21 states and the District of Columbia. In 2004, the remaining

PROMOTING PEDIATRIC HEALTH AND
NUTRITION
The Gerber Foundation provides
funding for national programs that have a significant impact
on issues facing infants and young children. The Foundation
gives priority to projects that improve infant and young
children nutrition, care, and development from the first
year before birth to three years of age. Programs should
support a specific nutrition intervention and have defined
