Employ Florida Banner Center for Clean Energy
Boosting the competitiveness of Florida’s alternative energy workforce and businesses is the aim of the Employ Florida Banner Center for Clean Energy. Based at the University of Central Florida’s Florida Solar Energy Center in Cocoa, the Banner Center for Clean Energy is a partnership of universities, community colleges, technical institutes, workforce agencies and the alternative energy industry. All share a common goal: ensuring a prepared workforce is available to support Florida’s growing alternative energy industry, including photovoltaic and solar water heater installation.
To date, the Banner Center has developed five courses on green building as well as customized training curricula including courses on solar water heating, solar pool heating and solar electricity.
